The college football season is probably the best time of the year. Some may argue that CFB fails to compare to the NFL, but in terms of betting on games, CFB is easy money. With that said, here are my 5 bets to place this weekend if you want to make some money. I use, so those are the lines I will use.
Last week, TLS went 4-2. Not terrible, but if you bet a unit like we did, you were up 1.64 units. As it happened last week, lines could change. I will update if lines move more than 1 point. TLS Season Record: 13-8
#5 USC vs. #16 Washington State, Pick: Wazzu +5
Sam Darnold makes his mistakes. That was clearly evident in last weeks matchup against California. Darnold has to take care of the ball for the Trojans to be good in this game. Its going to be a long night at Martin Stadium. For the Cougars, QB Luke Falk has been a standout with 14 TDs and only 1 interception. Wazzu will take the early lead and keep it close when USC starts coming back. Must watch game on Friday.
Minnesota vs. Maryland, Pick: Under 43.5
Maryland just lost their 2nd QB so they will be lacking explosiveness as seen last week against UCF. Minnesota shold be able to keep the pace up with P.J. Fleck’s offense. Minnesota wins big, but with the Terps on their 3rd string QB, this should be a low scoring game.
Iowa vs. Michigan State, Pick: Iowa +3.5
Iowa’s defense is dominant. Against #4 Penn State, Iowa was able to keep the Lions from scoring a redzone TD until the final drive. Michigan State has not really impressed this season, losing big to their only opponent with a pulse 38-18. Iowa should be able to easily dominate Michigan State, this is my absolute lock of the week.
UCLA vs. Colorado, Pick: Over 68
UCLA can score and Josh Rosen has 16 TDs. The best part, UCLA has a horrendous defense. Other than the game against Hawaii, it was Josh Rosen’s heroics that allowed UCLA to be competitive. This will be a fast paced game. This will be a high scoring game. 68 points is very low for this Bruin team that scores 45 points per game and allows 43 points per game.
Oklahoma State vs. Texas Tech, Pick: Texas Tech +10.5
Mason Rudolf needs a redemption game after losing to TCU last week. But that comes against a tough matchup at Texas Tech. The Red Raiders have failed to score less than 50 points only once this season. Against good competition, the Cowboys have fell flat. Take the home dogs and expect Texas Tech to keep it close.
- Illinois vs. Nebraska, Pick: Illinois +5.5
- Ole Miss vs Alabama, Pick: Ole Miss +27
- Washington vs. Oregon State, Pick: Oregon State +26.5
